But did they know it? Was this in print much prior to 1935? What was the teaching about the 144,000 prior to 1935. I know this is off the main topic, but you did get me thinking.

I bet 99% of the Jehovahs Witnesses that atend meetings do not know that during Rutherford's time all partook. Prior to 1935 all partook so all thought they were part of the 144,000 until someone said that the number was too big and the great crowd started up. Rutherford's announcement during one of his talks! So people stopped partaking because they were part of the great crowd class. The 8,800 of the 144,000 that remains on the earth has taken the place of the ones who had fallen away. Anyhow, if you were God would you be upset or just laugh? I come from a big family, so we always had off the main topic conversations.

Thanks for pointing that out to me Jeff. I did not think it was a good point for the JW to try to use, because the foolish questions had something to do with the resurrection of Jesus and nothing to do with modern day questioning truths. In fact Christains should question so it makes them stronger.

Oompa, Prior to 1935 all Jehovah's Witnesses partook so all were the FDS class. What I mean about all Christains is that no matter what Christ center church someone gets baptized they should still be united like Paul was stating because we all belong to Christ and not Paul, Jehovah Witness, John, SDA, Bible Students, Catholic but all belong to Christ. What do you think Paul was saying maybe you have a different thought, please let me know?

Thanks for reading my post, I have been doing this for years and it really is nice to have a group that sticks together but does not feel the need to agree with everything.

Should I pretend to be Christian right now because of where I live?

why didn't i follow the way of jesus and go to bethel?

along with my other topic dealing with my searching for my place in this town, i come across plenty of people who follow their parents, go to church, and vote for bush and all that boring stuff.

at subway today, there was a large group of happy christians ordering their food.

I guess I understand what you are saying! I was raised a JW and some times I wondered what would happen if..... I still a Christ like and have no desire to attend any churches.

I have tried but it a lot of work and well it just the same stuff! I do not believe in Trinity.

I do not have the energy to do all that stuff to be in a group, nor will I ever have energy to play the games!

But I am still not going to give of my faith in Christ ransom. It in the heart and not in a building full of like minded people.

Do not get me wrong it is okay to go and attend I just do not have the energy!

Did you ever choke while offering prayer?

of all the times i was called upon to say prayer, i only remember choking once - but it was such a big choke i totally embarrassed myself for days on end afterwards.

and this one time wasn't even at the kh, it was in a home right before we were going to pre-study the wt.. there were roughly 3 elders, their wives, and some other close friends of mine in the living room.

i'd say there were around 10 of us total.

I am not a bro! hope that is okay? Since most elders feel women should not be elders which is bull crap!

I used to gasp at some of the prayers because they were not even spiritual. I would look around the room to see if anyone else wondered what the heck did that jerk say? And sure enough, I saw many people looking up and frowning, while the elder giving the prayer was laughing and looking around.

Now really, do you think that prayers in public are sort of non bibical? Also, Do you think they are ritual; standing at the same time to pray, sing, set down, stand up, pray, sing, sit down, stand up sing, pray, and go home.

bible chronologist seems to imply that all depends upon their personal intellect or ability to figure out bible dates for salvation.

furthermore, they arent often concern with helping people understand the rest of the bible, that is, finding peace with god.

The more years I am away from the organization, the more I really do not understand their doctrines, and you nailed it!

I mean really now how can they state the Gentiles times ended? We are the Gentile Times!

Have you ever asked a JW what type of milliennialist are they anyhow? I CAN NEVER GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER, ITS LIKE THEY ARE CONFUSED. Are we at the end of Christ thousand years rule or does he rule begin later. LOL

See how easy it is to focus on God's business. It like who really picks out the 144,000? Man or God! so why should we talk about it God's plans? or write it down in a year book!

Really now can we tell God who to choose? Peace!
